SpeakUp ("the app") is a pronunciation practice app published by Consultin AI Pty Ltd. This policy explains what information the app handles and why.
When you tap the microphone, the app listens to your voice to transcribe the word you said and score your pronunciation. Speech recognition is performed by your device platform's speech service (Apple Speech on iOS, Google speech services on Android, or your browser's speech service on the web). We do not store your voice recordings on our servers. A temporary recording may be kept in the app's memory so you can replay your own attempt; it is discarded when you move to the next word.
You can use SpeakUp as a guest without an account. If you sign up, we store your email address, a username, and your practice activity (words practiced, accuracy scores, daily streak, and points) so the app can show your history, tricky words, and leaderboard position. This data is stored with our backend provider, Supabase, and is protected by row-level security so other users cannot read your practice history.
Your username and points total are visible to other signed-in users on the leaderboard and in friend search. Your email address is never shown to other users; friend search by email only returns a result on an exact match.
The iOS and Android apps show banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage information to serve and measure ads, as described in Google's advertising policy. SpeakUp does not sell your personal information.
You can permanently delete your account at any time from inside the app: open Profile → Delete Account and confirm. This immediately removes your profile, practice history, and friend connections from our servers. You can also request deletion by emailing us at the address below.
SpeakUp is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Guest mode requires no personal information at all.
